Swedish Massage is a modality that
promotes relaxation and/or treatment for soft
tissue trauma, is helpful in reducing
muscle pain, joint stiffness,
improving circulation of blood and fluids,
reducing blood pressure, and relieving
stress. Swedish massage includes a
variety of strokes: gliding, kneading, rhythmic
tapping and vibration, compression, cross-fiber
friction, and range of motion stretches or
resistive exercises. Captain Wayne's Swedish
massage is a full body "nose to toes"
treatment, which usually includes some deeper
work on focus areas of specific tension or
knots. You may request a preference for pressure
ranging from light to firm.
Captain Wayne integrates
Hot Stones,
heated smooth basaltic Hawaiian stones, in the palms
of his hands to warm surface tissue, especially
in the soft tissues of the upper back and neck,
placed in the client's hands, and on the 2nd through
5th Chackras to open energy pathways.

Deep Tissue is a type of
Swedish Massage, aimed at the deeper tissue structures
of the muscle and fascia (connective tissue), uses
many of the same techniques as Swedish massage,
but the pressure may be more intense or firm. Deep
Tissue massage is a more focused treatment, accesses
deep muscle structures beneath superficial muscles
and may be accompanied by release of ligaments,
muscle energy or tension, and adhesions or "knots."
Deep Tissue techniques may require greater pressure,
but not always. Captain Wayne uses Deep Tissue techniques
for treatment work as needed or upon client request.
